The FX King is a capable rifle, and our chassis sets it up as a competition style precision rifle with a rigid structure, an adjustable buttstock and a front rail that accepts both Arca and Picatinny gear. It is also one of the few chassis that Panthera and Dynamic owners can use, thanks to a conversion kit. This post walks through the setup.

The Saber Tactical Chassis for the FX King.
The chassis comes in Grey (ST0079) or Bronze (ST0082), is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and weighs 6 lbs. It is intended for King owners who shoot matches or long sessions from a bag or bipod.
The cheek rest, butt pad and length of pull all adjust without tools. You only need an AR style castle nut wrench, not included, when you first mount the buttstock assembly, since the rear attachment tube shares the diameter of an AR buffer tube. There is a QD sling swivel on the buttstock.
The front rail combines Arca and Picatinny, with M-LOK slots on the sides for rail weights to move the balance forward. A jimping pattern under the rail grips a shooting bag instead of sliding on it. Out of the box the chassis is sized for FX 480cc or 580cc bottles.
If you run a 700cc bottle, the Extension Rail in Grey ST0080 or Bronze ST0081 extends the Arca rail almost the full length of the chassis and adds more M-LOK slots on the sides. It fits the King, Dynamic and Panthera in our chassis.
We have received isolated reports of clearance issues with some carbon fiber bottles in the EU. If the bottle rubs against the back of the front rail during installation, stop and contact us, and we will mill out a section of the rail.

The Extension Rail for 700cc bottles.
The ST0093 lets FX Panthera and Dynamic variants use the King Chassis. It includes an FX rear plug, a two piece King style safety, mounting screws, and a safety spring with detent cover and screw. Some rifles may have slight safety binding during installation, which is resolved with a 7 mm reamer on the chassis safety hole.

The King Chassis Conversion Kit ST0093.
Our earlier conversion kit Field Notes covers the process, and the King in benchrest competition shows the chassis in use.

Yes, with the King Chassis Conversion Kit ST0093.
An AR style castle nut wrench to mount the buttstock assembly. Adjustments after that are tool free.
A 7 mm reamer on the chassis safety hole resolves it.
The King Chassis gives a King, Panthera or Dynamic owner a match ready platform with fit adjustments that stay put. Choose your color, match the rail to your bottle and add the conversion kit if you need it.
